2021 Mentorship Project – Applications Now Open

Canmore Folk Festival ADF Mentorship Project

There are 5 spots available for local Bow Valley artists/musicians (Lake Louise to Stoney Nakoda Nation). We will have 5 well established touring artists working with those selected. The project will start with a virtual zoom style workshop day in early September with topics such as “Music Business 101 in Canada and US”, “Stage Craft”, and “Getting the Best Sound from the Sound Tech” etc. All the artists will be featured in a 4 hour music revue style concert on Saturday, September 18th in Canmore with 2 time Juno winning artist Steve Dawson and his band, plus 4 other mentors. The festival typically presents music in the large folk umbrella – traditional and contemporary folk, alt folk, folk rock, blues, singer-songwriter, world roots, and bluegrass.

Please only submit an application if you are available for the September 17 rehearsal and September 18th concert.
