Your Guide To Accommodation On 2022 Folk Fest Weekend In Canmore

Will you be joining us at the 2022 Canmore Folk Music Festival? Excellent! We can’t wait to host you. If you scooped up your tickets but you haven’t sorted out the rest of the details yet, we want to help. If you’re visiting from outside of the Bow Valley, you’ll want to start considering your accommodation sooner than later. August long weekend is one of Canmore’s busiest weekends of the year, so you better believe that the town will be buzzing. Our biggest recommendation is to plan ahead when it comes to accommodation, transportation, and food and beverage.

We won’t be leaving you to fend for yourselves! Here are some helpful tips on where to stay during the festival weekend.

Canmore Lodging Co

Our hotel partner, Canmore Lodging Co, has two hotels in town, both very close to the downtown core. Pocaterra Inn & Waterslide is located on Bow Valley Trail. There you will find a pool, waterslide, and breakfast included.

In addition, Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge, also conveniently located on Bow Valley Trail, is ready to welcome visitors. There are regular hotel rooms and hotel rooms with kitchens. There are also one and two-bedroom apartments if you’re looking for a more homey stay. You can enjoy the hot tub and sauna after a day of music in the mountains.

If you’d like to book a stay with our hotel partner, we advise you to act fast! People flock to the mountains on long weekends and we want to make sure you’ve got a place to rest your head.

Camping

There are a number of places to camp in the Bow Valley and surrounding areas, but those spots book up fast. If you want to book ahead of time, be sure to check out site availability as soon as possible and check back for cancellations.

If you’re not bothered by waiting until the last minute, there are two places that are first-come, first-served campsites: The first is Spray Lakes West Campground and the second is Wapiti Campground right next to the Visitor’s Center in Canmore.

If you happened to have friends or family in town, you can also inquire about camping on their property so you can save spaces for those who are visiting town for the first time.

Tourism Canmore Kananaskis

This year, we’ve partnered up with Tourism Canmore Kananaskis to ensure that all of our Folkies have no problem planning their long weekends in the Bow Valley. If you’re not sure where to stay, TCK has got a ton of information and resources to help you make an informed decision. From hotels and resorts to hostels and campgrounds, they’ve got the scoop on all things accommodation in the area. Check it out!

Buddy Up

Last but definitely not least, you always have the option of crashing with a friend. Canmore locals know that people travel far and wide to experience the Bow Valley and they’re sure to welcome you with open arms.
