CANMORE FOLK FESTIVAL APPOINTS JENNA KLEIN-WALLER AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Canmore Folk Music Festival is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenna Klein-Waller as its new Executive Director. Jenna will lead operations and artistic programming for our organization.

Klein-Waller is a senior arts leader with over 15 years of progressive experience developing and managing multi-disciplinary arts programs, festivals, and organizations. “We are excited to have Jenna join the organization. She impressed us with her ideas for improving the festival while maintaining the magic that our audience knows and loves,” said Board President Brian Frank.

Jenna brings extensive experience in program development, event management, fund and sponsorship development, community engagement, and relationship building. “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to build on the tremendous work of Canmore Folk Music Festival’s extraordinary staff and volunteers,” said Jenna.

Sue Panning Retires

After 18 years with the festival, Sue Panning is retiring as the festival’s Executive Director and will pass the event on to a new leader. “I have worked with and met so many amazing people along the way,” said Sue. “I am truly inspired by their passion and commitment to the arts. Music adds so much to life and it takes a community of people to make music possible, especially live music.”

Sue thanked all of those who have supported the festival over the years and enriched her experience. “Thanks to all the board members, staff, volunteers, colleagues, and, of course, the artists, who give so much of themselves to keep the music flowing. I wish Jenna and the Canmore Folk Music Festival all the best to continue the legacy of creating a community through a shared love of folk music.”

The Canmore Folk Music Festival Society Board extends a heartfelt thanks to Sue for the many contributions she has made to the festival and wishes her continued success in her future endeavours.
