BuenRostro

About

With over a decade of musical exploration, BuenRostro stands as a distinctive "POST FOLK" ensemble. Drawing inspiration from traditional Mexican music, they seamlessly navigate across genres and eras, crafting a contemporary "infusion" that highlights lyrics, rhythms, and emotions rooted in tradition.

From Michoacan Pirekuas and Afro-Peruvian Landó to rancheras with rock-infused riffs, their repertoire spans an eclectic range, encompassing cumbias with samba, Sones with progressive rock elements, punk-infused merengues, and Peruvian Festejo culminating in foot-stomping performances by Tamborileros de Tabasco alongside their robust rock power trio.

Their one-of-a-kind show exudes theatricality, featuring costumes crafted from recycled materials that encapsulate the essence of a post-apocalyptic regional tribe reconnecting with the earth and its resources. Having embarked on three international tours, including Colombia in 2015, France in 2022, and Canada in 2023, BuenRostro is set to return to Canada in 2024 and make their debut at Mexico's renowned VIVE LATINO Festival.

Alterlatino in 2015 opens their discographic material, a self-production with 10 songs. Followed by VIBRA in 2018, EP recorded at Soga Recording, produced by Sacha Triujeque. In 2020 VIVO is released, recorded live at the Julián Carrillo hall for the INTERSECCIONES program of the UNAM.

Aguacero in 2021, Huellas in 2022, Volcano released in July during the Depredator Tour in 2023, Depredador Antinatural and El Planeta más raro del Universo in 2024 are the tracks that make up BuenRostro’s third studio album: TIERRA, produced by Alejandro Colinas and recorded at Fábrica de Éxitos. BuenRostro is available through Slammin Media and distributed worldwide by Believe since 2018.
